In Syria, T.C. is wounded, separated from NGO colleague and captured by a Jihadist, but refuses to simply flee when rescued by White Helmets and objects to the torture or execution of his ISIS capture, convinced only he can lead them to Shannon. In Austin, only Scott, who still seeks to strike a sensible deal, and Kenny, who can't afford to lose his income, accept working on under Paul's father. Yet the others trickle back in with patients in need, especially indebted to rescuer Mac Reily, so after PR-blackmailing tyrant Dr. Julian Cummings to operate on him with Scott, Jordan thinks up her own alternative to closing down the ER: becoming a veterans hospital. New Latino nurse Cain Diaz proves himself extremely capable, devoted and unshakable, but Kenny finds him threatening and he takes risks in patient's interest without waiting for doctor's orders. Drew and the fire department deal with mass casualties at a carnival, especially two airheads stuck in a Ferris wheel.
