高170厘米，体重70公斤，手掌很小，而且还是左撇子，这样的人天生就不适合做棒球投手，可是这部片子偏偏就讲述了这位左撇子棒球明星的故事。 1982年是韩国棒球职业化的第一年，甘史勇(李凡修饰)侥幸加入了棒球队，他加入的那支棒球队，就这样史勇一夜间成为了“Sam Mi超级明星”队的棒球投手。这个棒球队虽然起名为“超级明星”，但队内却没有一个像样的明星选手，所以联赛一开始就沦为了副班长，牢牢占据着积分榜的最后一名。史勇就更不用提了，他是差劲队里的最差劲球员之首……

Nobody expects him to win. Any time that Gam takes the mound, the other team cheers in the knowledge that a win is all-but assured. And one day, the most unlikely, miraculous chance appears for Gam. He gets to start against the best team in the KBL, the OB Bears. OB's ace, Park Cheol-sun, is in the midst of a 20-game winning streak, and is most anxious to keep that streak alive. No pitcher on the Superstars wants to go up against Park and his formidable winning streak. No one but Gam Sa-yeong. What happens that one time - that chance we all have but once in our lives - when we can rise up and become something far greater than ourselves?
